JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Gas Indonesia Summit & Exhibition, organised by dmg events, returns for its fourth edition in Jakarta from 31 July - 2 August 2019. Developed under the theme - Connecting the Gas, LNG & Energy Industry, Gas Indonesia Summit & Exhibition provides the platform for discussions around business partnerships, sector investment and the advancement of Indonesia's energy development.

Officially to be opened by the Vice Minister of The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of The Republic of Indonesia, Arcandra Tahar, Gas Indonesia Summit & Exhibition 2019 is projected to attract 500 conference delegates, 80 expert speakers, 80 exhibiting companies, and 6,000 trade visitors.

This high level of attendance reflects the level of interest generated by the Indonesian gas industry as it continues to flourish with some significant activity in 2019. A solid year began in February with the largest gas discovery in nearly 20 years by Repsol and more recently news of an agreement being reached on the framework of a US$20 billion development plan for an onshore LNG facility with INPEX. Despite recent cooling in gas demand, Indonesia is still forecasted to be a major importer in the short to medium term as it seeks to expand gas fired generation to meet forecasted demand growth as the economy picks up.

The Gas Indonesia Summit and Exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM), Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Activities (SKK Migas) and is hosted by Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) PT Persero and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN).

Commenting on their support of Gas Indonesia Summit and Exhibition, Djoko Siswanto, Director General - Oil and Gas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), said, "ESDM will be supporting GIS 2019 by attending the conference and exhibition, contributing speakers to the programme, profiling our organisation in the exhibition and promoting the event to our industry network. We look forward to seeing you in Jakarta later this year."

Throughout the summit, conference delegates and participants can look forward to hearing insights on the business opportunities across Indonesia's natural gas market, the latest policy and regulatory updates in the sector, and technical advances driving the gas and LNG industry. Featuring a strong multi-track strategic and technical conference programme and a busy trade exhibition, Gas Indonesia Summit is the meeting place for Indonesia's energy leaders.

Notable speakers confirmed to speak at the event include Arcandra Tahar, Vice Minister of ESDM; Dwi Soetjipto, Head of SKK Migas; and, Gigih Prakoso, President Director of PGN.
