European Film Promotion (EFP) presents a record number of talents and films at the 24th Busan International Film Festival. EFP, an International network of film promotion institutes from 37 countries from throughout Europe, is in charge of the overseas promotion of European films. Since 1998, EFP has introduced a variety of European films and filmmakers to Korean audiences.

EFP visits Busan with a total of 70 films this year. Among them, nine are celebrating their world premieres at the Busan International Film Festival. Most are directed by new voices in cinema. 10 films including Valley of Souls, a debut feature by critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker Nicolás Roncón Gille, Agnes Joy, which shows the potential of Icelandic films, and Boy Meets Gun by Netherland director Joost Van Hezik will premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival.

A record-breaking number of 61 guests including various French and Italian talents visit Busan. World-renowned director Costa Gavras presents his new work Adults in the Room in the Icons section and proceeds with his counterpart, director Park Chan-wook, to deliver an open talk on October 6th. Numerous cineastes, including Arian Ascaride, the winner of the Best Actress Award for Gloria Mundi at the Venice Film Festival, are also scheduled to meet audiences.

Film industry officials and producers will attend an Industry and Networking Day at the Asian Film Market to help promote leading talents of European cinema. Diverse activities by EFP during the Busan International Film Festival will provide audiences opportunities to experience the forefront of European cinema.
