TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UK-based software group Altia-ABM has appointed Paul M. Bourassa as its new Vice President for North America, providing strategic advice on sales, long-term strategy and customer relations for Canada and the US. The appointment follows the announcement in June of Rob Sinclair’s appointment as CEO.

Altia-ABM’s suite of products enable more effective and efficient investigations with significant time savings. The firm provides tools for the management of complex financial investigations, covert operations and the creation of digital case files. Altia-ABM technology is key to anti-money laundering and anti-corruption initiatives globally.

Paul is a barrister and solicitor with a distinguished track record, notably as a Federal Crown Prosecutor with the Government of Canada and an Advisory Crown Counsel to the Integrated Proceeds of Crime Group within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He has also acted as a consultant to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in southern Africa, with a particular focus on combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

Throughout his career Paul has conducted prosecutions and provided strategic legal advice in the areas of asset recovery, proceeds of crime, illegal drug supply and money laundering. In recent years he has also trained senior law enforcement officers and financial investigators in Canada and the Middle East.

Mr. Bourassa said:

Altia-ABM’s tried and trusted products offer significant benefits to law enforcement professionals and businesses. By shifting the focus from labour-intensive, time-consuming tasks to rapid data capture and analytics, investigations become more accurate and targeted. This is a game changer in the detection of fraud and successful prosecution of criminals and I am looking forward to offering that specialist perspective to customers in North America.”

Rob Sinclair, CEO of Altia-ABM said:

International expansion is a key part of our strategy over the next two years. With Paul at the helm in North America I’m confident that we are in a strong position to capitalise on our recent customer wins.”

Altia-ABM has customers in 16 countries worldwide including federal and provincial governments, enforcement agencies, tax authorities, intelligence services, forensic accountants and commercial financial investigators.
