On the morning of June 21st, a developer interview of the action role-playing game "Diablo III" was held at the office of Blizzard Entertainment Korea (hereinafter "Blizzard Korea") located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The interview was prepared for Blizzard's major developers to reveal new information and questions about Diablo III's additional content pack 'The Return of The Necromancer', and its release schedule was opened recently. The interview was conducted over the phone with the participation of Blizzard's Joe Shelley, senior game designer, and Julian Love, senior VFX artist.

According to the announcement, the new job, Necromancer, has been popular in the previous work, 'Diablo 2', and there were many opinions from users as well as from Blizzard about implementing the necromancer in Diablo III.

Of course, since it was not possible to implement the former style in 'Diablo III' as it is, they prepared many changes in the development process. Thus, the necromancer, which is showing a new appearance, has been implemented with a variety of combat methods from quick style to slow style. In particular, the technologies introduced by using pure water, corpse, and life combined old technologies from the previous work and new technologies adequately.

Based on the content, the public test was conducted over a long period of time, and the process of improving the completeness based on the test result and the feedback from the testers has been going on. In particular, the changes have been made to the elements that users need or those that seem to be lacking. Thus, users are able to enjoy the fun of the improved necromancer.

To the question asking if it is difficult to play as more resources are needed to use than other jobs, they answered, "From the novice to the hardcore user, we designed the character with various stages and diversified the styles in technology operation, so users could choose the appropriate stage for them." To the question asking why the armor set for necromancer consists of the same combinations unlike other occupations where the combinations were slightly different depending on armor sets, they answered the background, "It was to avoid using a mixed combination of sets. We planned to let users make the best use of the ability by fully using only one armor set."

In addition to this, "Challenge Rifts" that will be released along with the update of the 2.6 version is introduced through this interview. "Challenge Rifts" is a content that can be enjoyed regardless of the purchase of additional content pack. The content is played with 'time attack' method that users can challenge this record and attack the top ranked player when information such as user's record with the earliest clear time is scanned and provided to other users.

Through the greetings for Korean users, the two developers said, "We were planning to release "The Return of The Necromancer" content pack in the second half of the year, but we are very pleased to be able to show it sooner than planned due to a lot of good comments and smooth production." Also, they said, "We are very glad to be able to release the Necromancer, the character that most users have been waiting for and the character that many developers love, for the 20th anniversary of 'Diablo' franchise. We would like to ask for your interest and love for 'Diablo III' in the future."
