Fujii Kaze made his sensational debut with his first album “HELP EVER HURT NEVER” in 2020. After gaining attention, he made a performance called Fujii Kaze, “Free” Live 2021 at NISSAN stadium during the covid pandemic. He performed on the outside stadium in the rain in one of the biggest stadiums in Japan with only a piano and his song. And this performance was released via live streaming on YouTube to the entire world. He went on an arena tour inside Japan and he appeared on NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen at the end of 2021. NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen is a legendary TV program which air’s on New Year's Eve. It is considered to be an honor to be chosen as a performer on the national music program, which has a long history in Japan. He has established his very unique identity in the music scene.

Fujii Kaze is getting so much attention for his activity. His 1st release of 2022 is a remix EP of “Kirari”, which was his big hit from last year, with more than one hundred million streams. ‘Kirari’ is a song with the message about how important it is to think about shining (Kirari) moments in daily life. His original song which had a funky disco feeling has been arranged into a new modern and pop sound by his best friend Yaffle. This new track shows Fujii Kaze’s new side. The remix EP includes Fujii Kaze and Yaffle’s remix version as well as other versions from remixers from 4 cities in Asia. Please check it out. The birth of the remix EP with talented artists from all over the world shows evidence that Fujii Kaze has established himself as a unique artist bringing his originality to pop music on a global scale. The album cover of this EP was done by graphic designer Kosuke Kawamura. Fujii Kaze started 2022 with new creations of his original song “Kirari’ with other Asian artists. This project will definitely propel him into his next step of being active worldwide.

■ PROFILE

Fujii Kaze was born on the 14th of June, 1997 in Okayama, Japan. He started learning to play classical piano at an early age under his father’s influence. In 2010, when he was 12 years old, Fujii uploaded a piano cover video, which was shot at his family run coffee shop, on YouTube for the first time. Since then he has uploaded his videos steadily and people have talked about his excellent piano technique and amazing piano arrangements. His popularity pushed him to pursue a career in the world of music. His own YouTube channel gained popularity and had more than 10,000 subscribers by the time he was 19 years old. In 2019, he moved to Tokyo from Okayama and started his professional career as a musician. In May 2020, when the coronavirus outbreak happened all over the world, he released his debut album, ‘HELP EVER HURT NEVER’ . ‘Always help someone and never hurt anyone’ was the core message of this album. This album was highly acclaimed even though it was his debut album. The album became No.1 on the chart of ORICON Daily Rankings (on the 19th of May, 2020), ranked No.1 on Billboard JAPAN HOT ALBUMS chart (on the 1st of June, 2020), and also received the ‘Blue’ award which was a grand prize from the 13th CD shop award. At the same time, he was chosen to be the first person for “Artist On The Rise”, YouTube's campaign which is introducing upcoming artists. He joined YouTube's promotion project. In August, his documentary video, which showed his journey making his debut album, was released on YouTube.

In October 2020, which was only 5 months after his 1st album was released, he sold out his first one-man live show at Nippon Budokan, called “NAN-NAN SHOW 2020 - HELP EVER HURT NEVER” on the day the tickets were released. The live show had serious measures in place to prevent the risk of Covid spread and was a great success. His Blu-Ray Disc which contains this live performance won No.1 on the Oricon Music DVD and BD ranking (on the 3rd of May, 2021). This is the first time ever a male artist has won No.1 for the first production of a music video. In August 2021, his subscribers on his YouTube channel became more than 1 million people. In September 2021, he made a performance called Fujii Kaze, “Free” Live 2021 at NISSAN stadium. With the concept of, ‘I wish that all kinds of people’s hearts will be free during this one hour’, he performed for one hour on stage with his piano and song performance outside in the rain. This performance was released via live streaming on YouTube to the entire world and at its maximum audience was viewed by 179,457 people.

From October to November 2021, he went on a nationwide arena tour called Fujii Kaze “HELP EVER ARENA TOUR”, which consisted of 11 performances in 5 cities in Japan. This tour received great acclaim. On the 31st of December he performed for the first time on the 72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen which is a legendary TV program which air’s on New Year's Eve. It is considered to be an honor to be chosen as a performer on the national music program, which has a long history in Japan.
