- EARLY BEGINNINGS FROM NEW YORK CITY

The hip hop lyricist made waves in the 1990s. Making appearances on multiple certified gold albums and soundtracks by the “Recording Industry Association of America” or RIAA. One of which, went on to charting as high as number one on Billboards R&B and Hip Hop charts in 1999. That particular project as certified Gold within one week of it’s official release into stores.

At one point, he was arguably one of the most sought after artist on the mixtape circuit. Giving hip hop fans classic verses and freestyles. Fans couldn’t wait to hear what the lyricist would drop on their cassette decks next. Setting the foundation for himself for years to come. However, he was unable to drop an official project until now. So fans have been waiting for years to hear a solo body of work.

Before becoming an artist, little did people know he took on a more behind the scenes role. Working projects and organizing street teams for recording labels. Taking a more direct to consumer approach. While street teams are no longer common now a days due to social media, in the 90s this was everyday practice. Focusing more on building businesses and creating opportunities. He is the C.E.O of his own company and has been assisting many abroad with gaining actual assets and financial growth.

He recently started his own production company and signed himself to a 2 album deal. A true testament of how you can turn street hustle legitimate and beyond. Fans can expect the classic material from the Queens-bridge MC they got in the 90’s. However, you can also expect to hear what’s going on in current time with his descriptive wordplay and wisdom.

After 20+ years in hip hop, Imam T.H.U.G’s debut album will be available Tuesday, June 7th. It features the legendary ‘Prodigy’ of Mobb Deep amongst others.
