Park Hyatt Busan, the leading five-star hotel located in Haeundae has selected four students to participate in the global tourism field of the Vocational Education Innovation Cluster. This is part of the hotel’s Environment Social Governance (ESG) commitment to cultivate future talent.
The Vocational Education Innovation Cluster is a training support system that aims to educate talented vocational high school students to take a leading role in the developing local industry and encourage them to settle in regional areas. Run in collaboration with local authorities and the Ministry of Education, the system provides training courses with the participation of vocational high schools, local businesses and colleges.
Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education have designated four core industries - smart manufacturing, global tourism, financial management information services, and life care. Park Hyatt Busan has selected four students from vocational high schools in the Busan area to join its Food & Beverage Service and Culinary teams, as part of the Vocational Education Innovation Cluster’s global tourism category. The selected students will begin a five-month internship period on August 1, 2022. Subsequently, they will join an affiliated vocational college and work on contracts at Park Hyatt Busan for two years, combining study with work experience. There is a very high possibility that these graduates will be offered with a long-term labor contract with a promising Hyatt career ahead.
“We are honored both to contribute to Hyatt’s long-running Opportunity Youth, providing platforms to young people among our communities, and to give local students the chance to develop essential skills that meet the needs of specific businesses,” commented an official of Park Hyatt Busan’s Hunan Resources Department.
