Opportunity to promote industry & assist domestic tuning trends

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2017 Seoul Auto Salon, Korea's largest expo for motor tuning and its aftermarket, ran July 13~16 at the Seoul COEX.

Starting in 2003 and celebrating its 15^th anniversary this year, the Seoul Auto Salon allows domestic manufacturers and importers related to motor tuning and customers get together. The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; supervised by the Korea Automobile Tuning & Multipurpose Organization (KATMO), Korea Auto Tuning Industry Association (KATIA) and Seoul Messe International; and officially sponsored by VITOUR Tire Korea.

The growth of the tuning market means the Seoul Auto Salon is a festival for expanding deregulation of tuning; enlarging the base of the tuning population; disseminating the proper motor tuning culture; and introducing motor aftermarket trends. This year, plenty of small and medium tuning companies participated and various novelties and accessories offered more attractions than last year's event.

This year saw around 100 tuning companies participating and 70,000 visitors over the four-day period; the event has drawn a cumulative visitor figure of one million visitors over its 15-year history. Aftermarket products and services were displayed including auto tuning, care, electronics and accessories such as auto supplies and interior products and professional tuning and multi-construction shops.

A seminar was also held on core issues such as job creation in motor tuning and development of the motor tuning industry to increase understanding on tuning industry. Various tuned cars from domestic and foreign auto brands were displayed to grab visitor attention.
