The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomes airlines’ recent announcements on the reopening of direct flights from Clark International Airport (Clark) to the country’s prime island tourist locations. Newly reopened routes will boost the country’s domestic and international tourism as the routes provide added connectivity to the country’s in demand tourist destinations.

Clark International Airport Terminal 2 was upgraded through renovation in 2021, and it is located in the city center and has convenient access to major resorts and hotels in 30 minutes from the airport. Currently, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, and Philippine Airlines (in alphabetical order) operate the Incheon-Clark route and Air Busan, Jin Air, and Philippine Airlines (in alphabetical order) operate the Busan-Clark route. Starting in May, Cebu Pacific Airlines will also launch a new Incheon-Clark route seven times a week.

The DOT, together with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), airline executives, and other concerned agencies, met to discuss the enhancement of the utilization of the Clark International Airport. The purpose of the meeting was to identify ways to increase flights into Clark and establish it as a viable alternate airport and at the same time, help in the decongestion of the country’s main gateway, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Clark was designated as (Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone (CFEZ)) after the withdrawal of U.S. Air Force bases in the past and began city reconstruction, and is now one of the major business centers of the Philippines. In particular, Pampanga, where Clark is located, is well-known as a paradise for local food representing the Philippines, and is known as the place where you can experience world-class golf courses at reasonable prices. In addition, Clark is full of varied activities such as ATV tours, hiking, hot springs at Mount Pinatubo and a world-class outdoor zoo, Clark Safari Adventure Park.
