Intends to promote and implement thin film solar energy in Latin America

SAO PAULO, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hanergy Thin Film Power Group (00566.HK), a pioneering multinational clean energy company, announced last Thursday (Aug. 30) its entry into the Latin America region by venturing into Brazil at the onset. The company also revealed during the 'Hanergy Latin America Night', on the concluding day of a 3-day long Intersolar South America Exhibition 2018, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, that it has inked cooperation contracts worth USD 4.3 million with 15 companies from Brazil, Chile, and other Latin American countries.

Under the aegis of these contracts, Hanergy will cooperate with local partners in several aspects, including building-integrated photovoltaics products, the construction of thin film solar chip production lines, distribution of Hanergy mobile energy products like HanPack, Humbrella, and HanPaper, and localization of R&D for solar energy solutions.

Hanergy signed a distribution contract with Brazil's largest umbrella dealer, Greenhouse, for distribution of Humbrella, Hanergy's solar umbrella product. Similarly Hanergy also signed with the Information Technology Center Renato Archer, a research unit of Brazil Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications, to develop the BIPV technology application in Brazil. Hanergy also reached an MOU agreement with Queiroz Galvao, a giant Latin American real estate and engineering conglomerate. Under the MOU, Hanergy will work with QGDI to explore Brazil and a greater Latin America BIPV market.

Hanergy's mobile energy products are so popular that at the first day of the Intersolar America Exhibition, within 30 minutes, all stock products for the exhibition, including 250 HanPacks (solar backpack) and 550 HanPapers (solar power bank), were sold out. For enthusiastic buyers, Hanergy says they can also buy at www.dx.com or www.techenergy.cl

Mr. Lv Yuan, Vice president of Hanergy Thin Film Power Group, said, "We're extremely delighted to make in-roads in the Latin America region, more so, in Brazil. At Hanergy, we've accorded priority to the Latin America region as one of the key strategic markets for our global business. Further, having already signed contracts with 15 partners in two months after the team arrived in Brazil is just the beginning of Hanergy's successful innings in the region. We welcome more local partners to join us for an exciting mission of changing the world with thin-film solar energy, and together build the era of mobile energy."

Hanergy is underway with its robust expansion plan in Latin America, and its decision to venture into Brazil is a testimony to the company's commitment to contributing immensely towards Latin America's thin film solar market.

Lv added, "Since Latin America is a vast region, the high electricity load areas are mostly far from the traditional power stations, therefore, high-voltage lines are required for electricity transmission. Many remote areas in the region face the problems pertaining to lack of electricity and high-priced electricity owing to challenging reach of the power-grid. To deal with these problems, Hanergy's wide range of mobile energy products will undoubtedly be instrumental. I believe our distributors would find Hanergy's solar products could be a great benefit to locals' daily life."

Mr. Han Rui, CEO of Hanergy Brazil, said, "Hanergy intends to promote the local research and development, to understand the varied geographies of the Latin America region and manufacture products that meet local needs. Hanergy, already has a full-fledged plan to establish an R&D base in Brazil to make Hanergy's path-breaking technology to take roots in the region."

Rodrigo Lopes Sauaia, president of ABSolar, said, "Hanergy is steadfast in bringing economic benefits and jobs to Brazil. And the company has a more mature mobile energy solution, which can help resolve the problem of uneven energy distribution in Latin America."

Hanergy holds the record for world's most efficient GaAs single-junction solar module with 28.9% conversion efficiency and the CIGS module with a world's record 18.72% efficiency. Relying on these advanced technologies, Hanergy manufactures flexible, light-weight and thin-film solar panels. Hanergy's latest innovations include HanPaper and HanPack. HanPaper is an on-the-go wireless electricity generator and storage device that takes only 9 minutes to charge 10% power of iPhone X. Equally efficient, HanPack, is a well-designed backpack equipped with Hanergy's core technology, thin film solar cells.

Since 2009, Hanergy has painstakingly worked to integrate worldwide solar technology and made robust investment for the research and innovation in the field of thin-film solar power.

Up to the present, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group has filed over 3,700 patents, among which 900 have been granted. Hanergy is all set to revolutionize the global mobile energy industry through its varied offerings equipped with advanced technologies.
