The Royal Palaces and Tombs Department of Culture Heritage (an acting Head of: Shin Seong-hee) and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (President: Choi Young-chang) jointly host the 2023 Saenggwabang of Gyeongbokgung Palace event for foreigners on Monday, October 16, 2023.

The event offers programs – four sessions a day, with each session 70 minutes long – where participants can taste royal refreshments surrounded by the authentic mood of the Joseon dynasty palace.

* Program Operation(32 persons per approximately 70-minute-long program.) : Session 1 at 10:00, Session 2 at 11:40, Session 3 at 13:50, and Session 4 at 15:30.

Located inside Sojubang, the royal kitchen of Gyeongbokgung Palace, “Saenggwabang” was responsible for preparing refreshments and special meals for the king and queen. It was also called “Saengmulbang” or “Saenggeotbang.” The program starts at the same time as refreshment hours at the palace.

The Saenggwabang of Gyeongbokgung Palace program includes a choice between two refreshment sets, each including six desserts and a choice of royal medicinal herbal tea. Chodujeomjeungbyeong Set costs KRW 15,000, and Juak Set KRW 12,000. Customers can choose one royal medicinal herbal tea out of six tea varieties.

* Chodujeomjeungbyeong Set: Chodujeomjeungbyeong (signature menu), Yakgwa, Chamoejeonggwa, Jatbaksan, Maeyeopgwa, and Gotgamdanji, with a choice of medicinal herbal tea.

* Juak Set: Juak, Ssalgangjeong, Maeyeopgwa, Geumgyuljeonggwa, Sagwajeonggwa, and Gotgamdanji with a choice of medicinal herbal tea.

* Six royal medicinal herbal Tea Varieties: Gyeongokdaeum (signature menu), Ganggyulda, Gamgukda, Damgangda, Omijada (iced), and Jehotang (iced).
