On 12 April 2025, LOT Polish Airlines welcomed its first passengers onboard its inaugural direct flight connecting Warsaw with Reykjavik-Keflavik. To celebrate the launch, an official ceremony took place just before departure, attended by Robert Ludera, LOT's Registered Representative, Director of the LOT Polish Airlines Network Bureau and Dominik Zgieb, Director of Aviation Operations Safety Bureau at Polish Airports.

The Polish flag carrier will offer flights four times weekly during the summer (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays) and three times weekly in winter (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays). Outbound flight LO499 from Warsaw to Reykjavik will have a flight duration of 4 hours and 20 minutes, while the return flight LO500 will take approximately 4 hours.

"Thanks to its stunning landscapes, high safety standards, and fascinating history, Iceland has become one of Europe’s most desirable and unique tourist destinations. The growing interest in tourism between Poland and Iceland provides at the same time a solid basis for closer business cooperation in the service, transport and cultural sectors. But our new connection is more than just a simple “back and forth” flight. We are seeing a lot of interest from passengers from Central and Eastern Europe, who are keen to choose our flights, transferring comfortably in Warsaw on their way to Reykjavik. This is a bright signal to us that LOT's offering, including our travel standard and connecting options, is a good match for passengers' expectations. We warmly invite everyone to discover Iceland’s extraordinary beauty with LOT Polish Airlines." - Robert Ludera, LOT's Registered Representative, Director of the LOT Polish Airlines Network Bureau

Iceland is a place capable of surprising and delighting even the most experienced travellers. Although it is commonly associated with volcanic landscapes, glaciers, and harsh weather conditions, the island holds much more. It’s a country where nature speaks in a language entirely its own, and where culture and history carry an unmistakably authentic charm. Iceland is truly a land of stunning contrasts – of fire and ice – attracting visitors year after year. In addition, Iceland is renowned worldwide as one of the best spots to witness the magic of the northern lights. From September through April, guests have the unforgettable opportunity to admire these dancing lights illuminating the northern skies.

Travelling to Iceland is also a chance to enjoy silence and tranquillity – rare luxuries in today’s busy world. Many places on the island can make visitors feel as though they’ve arrived at the edge of the earth – with unspoiled vistas, free from crowds, accompanied only by sounds of nature and their own footsteps. Iceland encourages travellers to pause, unwind, and truly appreciate the present moment.

Despite having only about 390,000 inhabitants, Iceland is known for its vibrant cultural life, bustling art scene, and dynamic musical traditions. Icelandic cuisine also deserves special attention – it reflects the island’s rugged climate, geographic isolation, and historic traditions rooted in simple yet flavourful local ingredients.

A visit to Iceland is more than an ordinary trip – it’s an encounter with something authentic and awe-inspiring, creating unforgettable memories for years to come. Tickets for flights between Warsaw Airport and Reykjavik-Keflavik are now available across all LOT sales channels, including the official website lot.com, the LOT Contact Centre, and LOT Travel offices.
