EPIcenter, a nonprofit energy innovation hub, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren E. Dean to its Board of Directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Lauren to our Board of Directors,” EPIcenter Board Chair Cris Eugster said. “In just four years, EPIcenter has created a momentum that continues to propel it forward - shaping and fulfilling its mission in new and exciting ways. Lauren’s legal and financial experience, as well as her strategic business judgement and energy industry background, make her a smart choice as the first board member outside the founders.”

EPIcenter focuses on ways to make the production, distribution and consumption of energy faster, smarter, cleaner and more efficient. Dean is the founder and CEO of CornerBishop, a consulting firm that provides strategic, practical and timely advice to companies facing key milestones in their development.

“I have a long-standing interest in the energy industry and especially the work EPIcenter is doing to promote innovation in this space,” Dean said. “I am excited to be a part of the organization’s growth and development and contribute to the important work it is doing in the world.”

Dean has more than 14 years of experience in capital markets, corporate governance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development and other matters, serving as both external and internal counsel on a variety of unique and complex transactions. These transactions include initial public offerings of domestic companies and foreign private issuers, debt and follow-on equity offerings, public and private mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs and tender offers, real estate transactions, complex financing transactions and large corporate restructurings. Prior to founding CornerBishop, Dean served as Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at iHeartMedia, Inc. She began her legal career at Vinson & Elkins LLP practicing corporate and securities law, initially in New York City.
