The inaugural event honoured cancer survivors and raised funds for the Magic Castle
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#BeWellAdvised--The inaugural ONE LIFE Gala in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre announces it has raised over $400,000 for the Magic Castle, a play area for children of cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Presented by the CI Assante Wealth Management Circle of Giving Advisors, the sold-out event held on September 24, 2022 at the Four Seasons Hotel was attended by over 300 guests and featured a moving and memorable tribute to seven prominent cancer survivors, including: Olivia Chow, Steve Donald, Avery and Neville Kirchmann, Michelle Munro, Annie Ramos and Libby Znaimer. The host was Nicole Servinis, Live Eye reporter at Breakfast Television and host of the weekly show, “Things to Know in T.O.”
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is Canada’s largest and most comprehensive cancer centre and is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. The Magic Castle is the only program of its kind in an adult cancer centre in Canada and provides childcare to approximately 1,000 children (12 years old and under) annually. This year’s event helped fund significant improvements to the Magic Castle, allowing it to continue to provide care for children of cancer patients.
“It has been a great pleasure and honour to chair the inaugural ONE LIFE Gala for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre,” said Tina Tehranchian, Senior Wealth Advisor with Assante Wealth Management in Richmond Hill, Ontario. “I am deeply grateful to our sponsors who have made the gala such a great success, our outstanding committee, remarkable honorees, wonderful gala honorary co-chairs Lorraine and Neville Kirchmann, and the amazing team at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
“What makes this gala extra special for me is that the Assante Wealth Management Circle of Giving Advisors has come together to raise funds for this important cause,” said Ms. Tehranchian. “I thank my Assante colleagues and the executive management team at Assante for their generous support.”
Guests of ONE LIFE Gala were wowed by culinary delights and spectacular performances by leading Canadian artists Annie Ramos, Robert Ball, Valerie Stanois and Emily Hau. ONE LIFE thanks its many generous sponsors; a full list is here.
