Porsche Korea (CEO Mathias Busse) with ChildFund Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, announced new opening of 'Porsche Dream Circle’, a school landscape project focusing on environmental education.

In its efforts to enhance educational environments that promote the brand’s commitment to sustainability, Porsche Korea has donated a total of 220 million KRW to Sinjeong Elementary School and Yanghwa Elementary School this year, completing a total of 12 Porsche Dream Circle at different locations nationwide.

‘Porsche Dream Circle’ is part of Porsche Korea's CSR campaign, ‘Porsche Do Dream,’ which aims to create environmentally friendly spaces within schools to fulfil environmental responsibilities for the future generation. Through this project, students can actively engage with nature and understand the value of environmental sustainability.

‘Porsche Dream Circle’ at Sinjeong Elementary School, located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with a total floor area of 320.16㎡ (approx. 96.9 pyeong), turned the once neglected school grounds into an ecological learning space where students can study and relax.

A curved walking trail was created to encourage students to spend more time in nature, and shade plants such as brackens and plantain lilies were planted in the garden so that students can explore nature’s diversity at eye level.

From the garden entrance to the forest, spaces were created to offer comfortable resting spaces close to nature. Additionally, an automatic irrigation system powered by solar energy was implemented, ensuring the space to be managed in an ecofriendly way.

The ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ at Yanghwa Elementary School, located in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, with a total area of 200㎡ (approximately 60.5 pyeong), was designed as a school forest to provide students with a safe space to relax and study, improving the lack of shade and resting areas.

Planted along the way to school were evergreens, hydrangeas, kerria japonicas, heavenly bamboos, burning bushes, and lilacs for students to appreciate the changing seasons. Fruit-bearing trees, including persimmons, plum blossoms, and plum trees, were also planted to boost the impact of studying nature, along with shades to avoid the scorching sunlight.

Furthermore, three-tier deck benches were installed along the forest paths so that students can freely sit or lie down, as well as water tanks built adjacently to closely observe aquatic plants. An environmentally friendly hydroponic ecosystem space was also set up, featuring a water circulation system powered by solar energy to facilitate the observation of tree ecology.

Porsche Korea CEO Mathias Busse stated, "Throughout the past five years, the ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ has provided opportunities for ecological education and ecofriendly resting spaces for children to directly engage with the value of sustainability.” He also emphasized, “We hope that the ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ will help children to thrive in harmony with nature by providing learning spaces adapted to their eye level.”

Porsche Korea launched ‘Porsche Do Dream’ in 2017 and has been continuously carrying out CSR activities that reflect the values of ‘dream’ and ‘passion’ pursued by the brand. Porsche Korea has funded about 7.63 billion KRW through the ‘Porsche Do Dream’ campaign.
