The Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection features five, limited-edition pieces, including a stylish Merc x Gibson Legend Harrington Jacket, a Luthier Polo Shirt, a Bridge Hooded Sweatshirt, a Riff T-Shirt, and a Tone’ T-shirt.
“Merc is excited to collaborate with Gibson and we are proud to present a capsule collection that embodies the essence and celebrates the rich heritage of both brands,” says Sas Alavi, Managing Director at Merc. “It's not just clothing; it's a statement that pays homage to the powerful connection between music and style. The range has been meticulously designed to seamlessly blend the aesthetics of Merc and Gibson while appealing to modern sensibilities, creating pieces that resonate with both style enthusiasts and guitar lovers alike.”
Rising British punk-rock band Kid Kapichi has partnered with Gibson and Merc to launch and model the Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection. The genre-blending band known for their electrifying mix of punk, rock, and alt sounds has taken the UK by storm with their latest album, There Goes The Neighbourhood. The quartet recently announced headline tour dates for 2025, including a date at London’s Wembley Arena in April, as well as a show at the iconic Royal Albert Hall supporting the godfathers of punk, The Sex Pistols.
Kid Kapichi were a natural fit when choosing an artist that embodies the punk rock lifestyle in 2025 and to showcase the capsule collection, which features Gibson and Merc’s iconic logos in lavish gold on black on a stylish polo neck, tee and jacket, and a striking graphic tee featuring a quintessentially British red, white and blue colourway blazoned on the iconic Gibson Les Paul silhouette.
"It’s a pleasure to be working closely with two iconic brands. As time has gone on, we’ve naturally fallen more into the laps of Gibson guitars as I think their sound is unrivalled for the music we create,” says Kid Kapichi. “So, to work with them on multiple projects is such an honour. Merc have always made fantastic high-quality clothing, and Gibson have always made insanely high-quality instruments, so it’s a match made in heaven. It was an easy decision to say ‘yes’ when we were asked to work with the new collaboration. Merc have always lovingly recreated beautiful items from the 60’s era. One that is strongly connected with music and bands we’ve all loved our entire lives. We’ve been influenced by these bands and the clothing goes hand in hand with that too."
Tonight, February 24, the Gibson Garage London will host a launch event to celebrate the collaboration, which will feature live performances from Kid Kapichi and Blue Stragglers, a power trio known for their sheer energy and well-executed guitar solos.
"With the Gibson Garage London being just a stone’s throw away from Carnaby Street, having the opportunity to collaborate with Merc was something we were extremely passionate about,” adds Lee Bartram, Head of Commercial, Marketing and Cultural Influence – EMEA. “Merc are rooted in the Mod styling and culture of the 60s which is an extremely vital period, inspiring countless British musicians and guitar players while cementing London as being one of the most influential musical cities in the UK. With creative elements from famous Gibson models, and the Mod styling synonymous with Merc, the Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection has something for everyone looking for classic British design."
