As momentum around Gfast grows and the speed of rollouts accelerates, the Broadband Forum, ITU and many media are referring to the technology as Gfast – not G.fast – and we would like you to do the same!

This approach solves several critical technical issues with Google and Twitter (where breaking Gfast up with the dot doesn’t work). In addition, many industry luminaries are already publicly and frequently using the Gfast term.

“As the number of Gfast certified devices continues to grow we have realized that the term with the inclusion of the dot is no longer effective,” said Robin Mersh, CEO of the Broadband Forum. “By removing the dot, we will be able to make the term much more accessible in a number of ways.”
